It started with a question about Iowa's water.
Kind Water Co. was founded in 2021 — but the reason goes back further. Iowa ranks among the highest states in the country for cancer, and it's one of the few where the rate is still climbing, including among young people. The more we looked into why, the more one factor kept surfacing: water.
Across the Midwest, decades of nitrates, fertilizers, and pesticides used on farmland have worked their way into the water supply. City and county plants do important work — but they were never built to remove all of it, and what's left flows straight to your tap. We didn't think clean water should depend on what your utility can filter. It should be handled where it reaches your family: at your home.

Kind Water Co. was started by Ryan Brunton after more than a decade in home services. What began as a hard look at the Midwest's water became a family-owned, family-operated company with one belief at its core: every homeowner deserves genuinely clean water.
We're headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Nashville, Tennessee — and every system is installed by our own local, licensed plumbing crews. Never subcontracted strangers.
